Served in the Navy from 1982-1991 with a background in Electronics and finally with Naval Special Warfare. In 1997 I started with Richland County as a member of the county Mounted Search and Rescue group.
As a board member and training officer I taught Search and Rescue skills, Land Navigation, Rope Rescue techniques, Tactical medical and survival skills.
In 2003 became a Richland County Reserve Deputy and certified by the SC Criminal Justice Academy as an instructor. I am now a Traininng Division Instructor, the Reserve Coordinator, run the Bike Patrol and on the Dive Team for Richland County Sheriff's Dept.
1SG with the South Carolina State Guard SARCOM Dive Team.
I began my martial arts training at age 12 in Shotokan karate. In high school moved to Tang Soo Do and earned my first black belt and then another in Kyokushin karate. After my military career I moved back to SC and started training in Okinawan Shuri-Ryu and Shinto Yoshin Jujitsu, earned my 3rd Dan and was an instructor at the Columbia School of Karate-Do for many years.
Current Instructor Trainer with American Health and Safety Institute and Medic First Aid.
Teach up to First Responder level as well as Tactical Medic training TCCC.
